“I AM INTERESTED IN ART AS A MEANS OF LIVING A LIFE; NOT AS A MEANS OF MAKING A LIVING.” ~ROBERT HENRI

RACHEL WHO?

Hi! I'm Rachel Alexis U. Sy your typical asian girl who is currently living in the Philippines. I'm a 90’s child who grew up learning more about life through the various media of art. I'm an artist who spends most of my time creating art, widening my imagination, and who constantly dives into the wonderful pool of ideas and inspirations that the world has to offer.

ART = RACHEL SY

In a typical Chinese family, having the brains is a must but that is not the case with me. I constantly grew attatched to my own imaginations and putting those ideas onto a piece of paper. At heartI was an artist and the more I grew, the more I fell in love with it.

APPROACHING ART

Everything begins with an idea. Although ideas are great in our minds they tend to have a different outcome. On the otherhand, there is this emotion that we feel in our hearts which is called the gut feeling. It is an emotion that will always depend on the person's choice. I think that these factors that make a person and his/her art unique becuase it consist mostly of who he/she is. If you combine that idea which comes from the mind and the gut feeling you will have from the heart then you'll be able to form something called an art of your own.

WORK=PLAY

Doing what you love and loving what you do will always lead you to success. I love making art and exchanging ideas with my fellow artists. I'm constantly amazed by the ideas that people can come up with which is why I hope that someday I could work in a place that thinks professionally and creatively.
